About the Role

You will be working within a unique area of the Finance and Corporate Services division. The Rail Transport Services Contract team is made up of a small group of specialists who provide contract management services and high-level commercial and reporting analysis to internal and external stakeholders in support of Queensland Rail's key contract with government

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Commercial Analyst (AS6) with strong finance, analytical, and reporting background to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your advanced commercial and performance analysis and stakeholder engagement talents to drive business objectives and outcomes. You will interface with diverse stakeholders across the organisation and negotiate on Queensland Rail's behalf with external stakeholders.

Your high-level financial skills and attention to detail, as well as your ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively at various levels, and navigate through complex discussions will determine your success in this role. Contract management experience would be desirable.

While we offer a flexible work schedule and hybrid work opportunities, the successful candidate will be expected to work in the office during the first 3 months to become familiar with Queensland Rail's processes and establish relationships with stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a natural problem solver with a great analytical mind who enjoys collaborating with various stakeholders and who thrives on building trusted relationships in a service contract environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant commercial analysis experience within a complex, diverse organisation.
  • Financial/business analysis background with a high level of attention to detail
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes with various stakeholders and executives
  • Experience interfacing with teams to proactively gather information to understand requirements
  • Ability to operate in a demanding and dynamic work environment, dealing with conflicting priorities to achieve results

Remuneration & Employment Type

This is a permanent, fulltime position, based in Brisbane CBD with a starting base salary of $ 135,199 plus 12.75% superannuation.
