Requirements for this role:
Qualified chef preferred, or 4+ years of relevant work experience required for this role
This is a part-time or full-time position ideally, working 4-5 days per week including most weekends.
Looking for candidates who are available to work:
Shifts vary between the hours of 8:30am - 5:30pm - no early starts or late finishes, hospo bliss!
The cafe is open 7 days per week, 364 days per year - Hello Public Holiday rates!

The Role:
The Chef position is a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic person who will bring positivity and growth to our team and ensure the smooth operation of our high-performing cafe. The Chef will be responsible for but not limited to kitchen service, food preparation, stock control, adhering to hygiene and health practices and customer service ensuring quality and consistency in our products and services. The role requires excellent leadership skills, industry knowledge and best practices and skills to drive business success in a fast-paced environment. This position requires exceptional communication, people skills and organisational skills. The Chef will work collaboratively with all colleagues particularly the back of house team, and with supervisors and managers to aid the growth of the business through strategic marketing and sales initiatives as well as being a key driver in reducing costs and improving efficiencies.

The cafe was established in 2021 by mother-daughter duo who had a successful cafe in Melbourne prior for 8 years. Set within the amazing Mill Markets, foot traffic is constant with strong local support and being a popular tourist destination.
Maze Cafe offers a full dine menu, ready-made savouries for on-the-go, house made sweets selection and even our own retail produce collection of jams, pickles and chutneys. Freshness and local produce is at the heart of what we do. We are a quality over quantity kind of place where the food is honoured and service is top notch. Speed is critical to get customers back shopping at the Markets, but our food is never compromised.
The important and exciting role will see you working closely with the managers and the hands-on owners. Be part of venue that welcomes 2000+ on weekends!
