Job Title: Contact Centre Operator – Service NSW
Location: Maitland Contact Centre
Contract Duration: 6 June 2025 – 5 December 2025
Pay Rate: $34.59 per hour + Super
Positions Available: 10
Work Type: Full-time, Onsite Only
Hours: Up to 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays)
About the Role:
Service NSW is seeking 10 motivated and customer-focused Contact Centre Operators to join the Road Licensing & Identification business line at our Maitland Contact Centre. These are contract roles offering valuable public sector experience in a fast-paced, supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality customer service via inbound calls
- Navigate multiple systems efficiently to support customer queries
- Maintain accurate and timely records of interactions
- Provide assistance on a range of licensing and identification matters
Roster Details:
- Rotating roster between 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday to Friday
- 4-week shift blocks: early (e.g. 7am start), mid (e.g. 9–10am start), and late (e.g. 11am start)
- You will not repeat the same shift across two consecutive rosters
Mandatory Requirements:
- National Police Check
- Attendance at an onsite Assessment Centre in Maitland (approx. 90 mins)
Skills and Experience Required:
- Typing and navigating systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Teams
- Strong email etiquette and ability to learn new systems quickly
- 2–3 years of customer service experience (call centre, retail, or admin)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous office experience
- Intermediate computer proficiency:
- Government experience is desirable but not essential
Training & Onboarding:
- Induction: 6 June 2025 – Maitland Contact Centre
- Phase 1 Training: 10–20 June 2025 – Newcastle Contact Centre
- Phase 2 Training: 29 July – 7 August 2025 – Newcastle Contact Centre
- Nesting Period: 12 weeks post-training
Note: Full attendance is required during training. Non-completion or failure to meet competency requirements may result in early contract termination.
