Job Summary
Working across the Western Region with our team of Work Placement Coordinators, you will be key in the delivery of the NSW Work Placement Coordination Program connecting with local schools and students, business partners and industry.
We offer flexible work arrangements including flex leave and 3 days of “WSC Leave “over the Christmas Period along with a generous salary to the successful applicant- these positions will be based in our Dubbo office.
1 Position available = FT 35hrs a week
Who we are
Established in 2002, Western Student Connections coordinates the Work Placement Program for Year 11 and Year 12 Catholic, Independent and Government School students across Regions J and K (the Central West, Orana and Far West regions of NSW) under contract with the Department Of Education. Included in our contract are Work Placements for school delivered and TAFE delivered VET courses. Working closely with schools, industry, business and communities, we deliver a broad range of workplace learning and career development programs to promote successful futures for local young people.

You are an excellent communicator with outstanding customer service skills.
You are an organised person with high level administration skills, you pay attention to detail, and you are very skilled in time management.
You have had previous business, trade or customer service experience.
You have the ability to work independently, remotely and as part of a regional team
You are confident to deliver programs to small groups of students and young people.
You have excellent presentation skills with small or large audiences.
You have a basic understanding of Vocational Education and Training (VET) in schools.
Key Responsibilities
Have a desire to work in a positive, youth focused organisation.
Provide friendly and professional customer service
NSW Work Placement Coordination Program – arrange Work Placement opportunities and present work readiness sessions in schools within the contract region
Build and maintain working relationships with local schools, business and industry and community.
Administration – accurate record keeping and reporting
Social media support – assisting with content creation
Other duties as directed
Essential Criteria
Previous business, trade or customer service experience
Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
Demonstrated computer literacy with high proficiency in MS Office suite, including OneDrive and Outlook, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, self-manage, prioritise tasks and meet strict timelines.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team to achieve organisational goals.
Provide Working with Children Check clearance under the Child Protection Working with Children Act 2012: See link: https://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au
Agree to have an Australian Federal Police Check
Be able to work within a Child safe organisation.
Provide a Current NSW Driver’s License Class C and unblemished Certified driving record: See link: https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/request-driving-record

Understanding of VET, employment and training pathways
Whitecard and First Aid
