About the role:

We are looking for a Functional Lead who collaborates with key stakeholders to implement SAP Finance solutions and offers direction to FICO team members to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsbilities:

• Act as the Functional Lead for SAP Finance modules (including FICO, AP, AR, AA, PS, and IM), supporting a large-scale application used by thousands of users.
• Oversee and guide the delivery of approximately 50 enhancements and projects throughout the business cycle.
• Maintain a strong, up-to-date understanding of finance-related business processes and the systems that support them.
• Champion Agile practices (where applicable), ensuring smooth and timely releases to production.
• Contribute to work estimation, including T-shirt sizing and defining MVP (Minimum Viable Product) requirements, while actively participating in solution design discussions.
• Engage early in project initiation to assess impacts on Finance operations, provide functional leadership, and coordinate delivery efforts with the FICO team.
• Review and approve functional design documents, ensuring alignment with business needs and user expectations.

Essential Skills:

• Strong knowledge of IT operations and systems, particularly within the retail sector.
• Over 10 years of hands-on experience with SAP FICO, including mandatory exposure to S/4HANA environments.
• S/4HANA implementation experience is desirable.
• Proven ability to manage and support enterprise-grade applications requiring high availability and performance.
• Strategic mindset with experience in shaping end-to-end solution designs while minimizing technical debt.
• Comprehensive understanding of IT Service Management principles, especially in the areas of strategy, design, and implementation.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and executive teams.
• Advanced technical and leadership capabilities, supported by postgraduate qualifications (preferably at a Master's level).
• Demonstrated experience leading functional teams in complex, matrixed environments, collaborating across onshore and offshore teams covering applications, integrations, security, and data interfaces (e.g., FTP, APIs, web services).
• Solid Agile delivery experience, with proficiency in using Agile and DevOps toolsets.
