SAP Business Analyst Position

• $850 per day + super
• 6 month contract + extensions
• Melbourne CBD Location + WFH (hybrid)

About the role:

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst to play a key role in shaping and implementing a ‘ERP to S/4’ migration strategy. We are seeking an experienced resource with functional background to assist on defining and implementing a strategic roadmap that suits Business and IT needs for the migration program.

This role will help defining detailed business analysis, to identify problems via in-depth investigation and to prepare functional and non-functional information for strategy development.

It involves close collaboration with senior leaders, and key stakeholders across the organisation to align the S/4 initiatives with business objectives. Additionally, the position will contribute to the formation of business case and successful execution of the ERP strategy aligning to the program objectives.
Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with General Managers, senior leaders, and program team to refine a comprehensive S/4 strategy roadmap, ensuring alignment with individual business unit strategies.
• Conduct in-depth interviews and workshops with key stakeholders to gather process insights, business requirements, identify opportunities, define benefits, and formulate strategic recommendations on how S/4 capabilities streamline business processes.
• Collaborate with technology teams to ensure S/4 initiatives aligning with overall business goals and technical feasibility.
• Lead and facilitate business discovery activities, documenting key insights, business needs, and system migration opportunities.
• Assist in defining and prioritising S/4 initiatives based on business impact, feasibility, and value.
• Work with program teams to define business and functional requirements, ensuring seamless migration to new ERP system.
• Cooperate with Program Leads to complete key Testing cycles such as System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Production Verification Test (PVT)
• Develop clear and comprehensive business cases, requirements, process maps, and impact assessments to meet desired business outcome and associated program costs.
• Monitor and measure the success of S/4 initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Key Criteria:

• Proven 5+ years experiences as an SAP Business Analyst within a digital transformation, strategy, and full -cycle system implementation environment.
• Strong background in stakeholder engagement, with experience collaborating with senior leaders and program team to shape and implement SAP strategy and roadmap.
• Ability to translate business needs into actionable deliverables and initiatives.
• Experience in managing or supporting system upgrades, migrations, and technology transformations.
• Demonstrated expertise in completing impact analysis, options paper, and functional artefacts to support requirement gathering and solution design.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation abilities to lead challenging conversations and present to executives and senior leaders.

The successful candidate will bring the following:

• Tertiary qualification in business, finance, or other related field, combined with 5+ years of SAP Business Analysis experience.
• Solid knowledge on business analysis framework and project methodology (e.g. PMBOK, BMBOK, agile etc.). Business Analysis Certification - CBAP certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Solid end-to-end business analysis capabilities in large complex projects/programs (elaborate business and systems requirements) and familiarisation on business analysis tools and techniques.
• Proven strong workshop facilitation and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management and problem-solving skills who knows how to engage with a variety of user and senior stakeholder group, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
• Experience to process map current state and make recommendations on future state to improve business systems and solutions. Experience in producing project road map is highly preferred.
• Advanced documentation skills - Develop high quality outputs (e.g. PowerPoint) for executive reporting; could include graphs, roadmaps, dashboards etc.
• Experience in preparing and presenting complex process insights, financial reports, and strategic recommendations to the senior stakeholders.
• Experience in enterprise resource planning systems (i.e. SAP) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Experience with collaboration tools like MS Teams, MS Planner, Jira, Trello, Confluence.
• Familiarity with finance, corporate, and analytics functions is highly desirable.

Desirable:

• Has reasonable knowledge and understanding on SAP S/4 HANA
• Has experience with core SAP modules, such as HR, FI/CO, Purchasing or Procurement
• Familiar with third party toolset such as OpenText and ILM or standard SAP archiving solution, such as SARA, SARI, and Business Object Repository (BOR)
