Security level - mandatory: minimum federal Baseline security clearance required (NV1 a ‘plus’.).

Location – Sydney CBD office.

WFH – generally, 2 days in office / 3 days WFH each week.

Start – estimated: July 2025.

Initial contract duration – 6 months. May extend.

The Role:

As an experienced Identity and Access Management (IDAM) Software Engineer, you will be required to carry out tasks such as overseeing software development project areas, writing optimised code, and providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. You will be responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by your team. Specific experience with ForgeRock is required.

The key duties and responsibilities are:

Support the delivery of a transformational new user registration process;

Guidance and advice as part of the implementation of the transformational new user registration process;

Work with AUSTRAC SMEs on ForgeRock component configurations, service checks and ensure service stability for current and future workloads;

Design, develop, test & implement identity management frameworks, systems and protocols;

Develop, implement and manage IAM systems including: SSO, authentication and access controls to ensure security, confidentiality, integrity and availability of IAM systems and data.

Develop and manage patterns for application deployment that manage security at every level.

Ensure that all procured and / or developed IAM systems are implemented properly and function as intended.

The key skills and experience required are:

Mandatory

Minimum 2 years of hands on experience with the ForgeRock Identity platform (including Access Management and Identity management modules)

Experience working in a secure government environment (federal, state or similar)

Extensive hands on experience with identity and access management, including;

- Open standards;

- Best practices and procedures; and

- Various software solutions.

Design, implementation and maintenance experience with the ForgeRock product suite.

Experience performing deployments in highly secure and highly available environments.

Extensive experience in troubleshooting, identifying and resolving technical identity and access management related issues.

Desirable

Experience in continuously improving identity and access management solutions and systems for protection against evolving threats.

Knowledge of automation and DevOps practices.

The ability to work collaboratively with business driven project teams as well as infrastructure teams.
