Our Client, a large Federal Government Department is seeking Software Engineers that have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team.

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Developing and delivering applications and UI components in line with Departmental and Industry Standards and Methodologies;
• Developing complex applications (i.e. working software) using JavaScript and .NET that meet business needs (i.e. user stories linked to business outcomes), UI/UX design specifications, industry standards, agreed service levels, departmental policies, procedures and corporate objectives such as enterprise architecture artefacts;
• Experience and skills in customising, implementing and administering ESRI web solutions to empower users with GIS tools and solutions;
• Writing high-quality, and scalable code while also coaching and supporting your team’s technical growth;
• Conducting code reviews, fostering high standards and continuous improvement;
• Employing the continuous integration infrastructure (DevOps);
• Building reusable components and front-end libraries;
• Addressing Production incidences in accordance with ICTD Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Technical skills required:

• Minimum 5+ years' experience working with application development technologies such as: Javascript / .NET / ReactJS;
• DBMS experience (SQL);
• Web Services (SOAP-based & RESTful);
• Writing unit test cases;
• Cloud & DevOps technologies experience specific to application development & deployment
• Experience translating architectural design patterns into application code;
• Experience working with ArcGIS products such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS JS SDK or experience using ArcGIS experience builder.

Desirable Criteria:

• Configuration management level 2 Applies tools, techniques and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components and changes. Assists with audits to check the accuracy of the information and undertakes any necessary corrective action under direction;
• Experience in supporting mission critical 24/7 systems.
