About the role
We are seeking a part-time Human Resources Officer to join our team at Global Business College of Australia in Melbourne. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our HR function and contributing to the overall success of our organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and growing higher education institution.
What you'll be doing
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies aligned with organisational goals
Coordinate recruitment and onboarding processes, including job postings, interview scheduling, and contract preparation
Facilitate induction and training processes for new staff
Support employee relations, including communication, conflict coordination, and disciplinary documentation
Assist in the performance review process and data collection
Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
Maintain and update employee benefit information (health cover, superannuation, leave)
Ensure all HR operations comply with relevant Australian employment laws and internal guidelines
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in HR functions with hands-on coordination responsibilities
Sound knowledge of Australian employment law and HR best practices
Proven experience in recruitment, onboarding, and employee file management
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Detail-oriented with strong organisational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work independently under pressure while supporting a team
Experience in employee benefits and HRIS/payroll systems (Employment Hero) is a plus
Candidates with Mandarin language skills will be given preference
