About the Role
Join our dedicated team at the Adult Acute Unit (AAU)—a 23-bed inpatient mental health facility providing specialist care for adults aged 18 to 65. Our unit consists of 20 Low Dependency Unit (LDU) beds and 3 High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds, delivering evidence-based, recovery-focused treatment.
At AAU, we embrace Safewards principles and recovery-oriented care. We foster a strong team culture where staff are supported through regular education sessions, access to a Clinical Nurse Educator, and structured training programs for those new to mental health.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct mental state examinations (MSEs) and risk assessments, contributing to individualised treatment plans.
- Provide education and support to consumers, families, and significant others.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation to ensure continuity of care.
- Actively participate in unit portfolios and quality improvement initiatives.
- Deliver holistic, consumer-focused care as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Skills & Experience
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Div 1).
- A passion for consumer-centred, recovery-focused mental health care.
- Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Sound clinical skills and a commitment to safe, evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with consumers, families, and colleagues.
- A flexible, innovative approach to care delivery.

This position is paid in accordance with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement. The classification is Registered Psychiatric Nurse Grade 4 (NP11 - NP70) which ranges from $34.17 - $48.26 per hour.
