Essendon Private Clinic is seeking a committed and proactive Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) for a rewarding full-time role, split between direct patient care and leading initiatives that enhance clinical standards and staff development.
About the Role
This dual-role position offers a unique opportunity to contribute both at the bedside and at the organisational level:
2 days per week: Provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care within our inpatient mental health unit, supporting patient recovery and well-being.
3 days per week: As the Quality and Education Coordinator, you will lead, develop, and evaluate initiatives that promote clinical excellence, staff education, and continuous quality improvement.
Quality & Education Coordinator Responsibilities
Design and implement evidence-based education and professional development programs for nursing and clinical staff.
Support staff competency through structured training, supervision, and ongoing evaluation.
Monitor clinical outcomes and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., NSQHS).
Coordinate audits, incident reviews, and continuous improvement projects to enhance patient safety and service delivery.
Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and innovation across the clinical team.

About You
Current AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Registered Nurse with a post-graduate qualification in mental health nursing.
Previous experience in quality assurance, clinical education, or nursing leadership (preferred but not essential).
Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and regulatory standards.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire others.
