St John of God Geelong Hospital St John of God Hospital Geelong is a 253 bed hospital and is recognised as the leading provider of private health care in the Barwon and South-Western region. The hospital provides a range of services including an emergency department, day surgery, medical, surgical and maternity services, along with a 24 hour critical care unit and Cath Lab services.
Your Position at St John of God Geelong Hospital
We are currently seeking applications from suitably qualified, Registered Nurses to join our highly skilled and multi-disciplinary team. There is a position available with our Critical Care Nursing unit.
You will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive patient care, as well as the coordination and supervision of care delivered by junior staff and students.
If you are dynamic and flexible nurse, with outstanding communication skills and the ability to provide high-level patient care then we want to hear from you.
The Position
Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Care Paths.
Demonstrates knowledge of/and functions in accordance with legislation and common law affecting nursing practice and acknowledges accountability/responsibility for own actions.
Maintains and promotes harmonious interpersonal relationships and effective team work, between staff, patient, relative, doctors and ancillary staff.
Assists and collaborates with team members in the assessment of allocated patients.
Communicates effectively with all members of care team and reports changes in patients status to appropriate personnel.
Initiates discharge planning on patients admission to ensure appropriate use of all resources and the patient/family are well prepared for discharge.
Ensures Infection Management policies and procedures are available to all staff and adhered to and implemented
You will have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and you will have post-graduate qualification in critical care and recent clinical experience within Critical Care.
To succeed you will have well developed interpersonal and communication skills, ability to identify and solve problems. In addition, you will demonstrate commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction.

The Benefits:
Salary: $42.94 to $60.65 (includes casual loading), plus 11.5% superannuation
