Your New Role
The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of the College's Catering and Cleaning Services, including the Boarding Kitchen & Dining and the College Canteen. This role ensures the provision of high-quality, nutritious meals that meet dietary and nutritional standards, while maintaining compliance with WHS requirements and delivering exceptional service to the College community. The Operations Manager leads the planning and delivery of catering for all College events, from small in-house functions to large-scale events of up to 350 guests, College Boarding House and College Canteen. This role also oversees operational efficiency, staff management, budget accountability, and compliance.

Salary: Level 4 $85,000 per year - Averaged (term-time only)
Essential Criteria
Experience in managing the day to day running of large, successful food services, including safe handling of food, appropriate food preparation knowledge and experience, ordering supplies, balancing budget, invoice processing and managing staffing
Experience in preparing menus, meals and snacks that are based on customer feedback and preferences in accordance with food safety standards and quality controls
Experience in resolving customer complaints regarding food quality, customer service or other issues
Proven ability to lead teams, manage rosters, and resolve workplace issues
Experience with budgeting, ordering, and cost control in a food service environment
Ability to set KP l's in regards to food services
A proven high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisation and time management skills and experience to adequately organise and run the canteen, Boarding House Dining Room and hospitality events
Flexibility to work outside of regular hours during major events
Diploma/ Certificate Ill in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality Management incl. Food Handlers Certificate
Experience at the senior management level of Food and Beverage Operations
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (preferable)
NSW Working with Children Check
Successful Candidate to undertake a National Criminal History Check
Successful Candidate to undertake a Functional Assessment
Accreditation for Support Staff in a Catholic School (Category A, Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga) or willing to achieve.
