Facilities Administrator (Operations Assistant), Outer North Brisbane, $60,000 - $75,000 depending on experience
This entry-level role offers a solid foundation for career progression to develop within Facilities Management, Retail Shopping Centres and a private property group with an established network of Shopping Centres throughout SE Queensland. They have a reputation for fostering a great culture, team ethic, and career progression and have an extremely low staff turnover, making this a rare opportunity to get a foot in the door to this destination organisation.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you will be mentored by a leading facilities expert and have autonomy for a well-known flagship shopping centre. As part of a larger Facilities Management team, you will have support, access to training development, and excellent systems.
This role will draw upon your ability to support the centre brand through appearance, keep the environment safe and clean, and build strong, robust relationships with contractors, tenants, stakeholders, and customers. Primarily, this role will be office-based, and proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, is a pre-requisite.
Key responsibilities of the role include assisting with:
Minor paperwork consists of some reporting, ordering of requisites, and follow-up.
Demonstrating strong administrative office skills
Overseeing correct induction procedures for contractors.
Maintaining the Centre to the highest standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
Adhering to insurance and workplace health and safety requirements.
Coordinating and managing maintenance, cleaning, and security contractors, including obtaining quotes for work.
Monitoring and implementing programs to minimize wastage of electricity, water, and other services.
Maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic registers
Completion of all fire impairments
We are looking for a candidate with the right attitude and dedication, a strong willingness to learn, adaptability, and a proactive approach to work. While maintenance/facilities coordination experience is a plus, motivation and drive are equally important. This role will open the door to further opportunities within the Operations team. We value individuals eager to take on new challenges, embrace feedback, and continuously strive for improvement. Budgeting and Forecasting experience is not required, although the successful candidate will ideally be looking to progress their career towards Operations Management and will develop this skillset in the future.
