Someone who thrives on turning PR moments, events, and family culture news into smart, scroll-stopping content across platforms. Generalist digital marketers should not apply for this role.

Mums aged 25–40 with young kids looking for fun, inspiration, and trusted recommendations. Think of us as a daily lifestyle guide for modern families.

The Role:
We’re hiring a Freelance Social Media Specialist who is both creative and strategic—a hybrid content lead and digital producer. This role is fast-paced and hands-on. You’ll own the day-to-day execution and short-term planning mainly across Instagram and Facebook, with extensions into TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube Shorts.

You’ll be expected to:

Stay on top of trends, news stories, and cultural moments relevant to families—and act on them quickly.

Brief writers, assign content, write or repurpose articles in response to real-time opportunities.

Plan and manage a dynamic short- and medium-term content calendar.

Post daily: up to 2 x IG posts/reels per day, and 4 x Facebook posts per day, including evergreen content, brand storytelling, PR announcements, event news, competitions, and paid partnerships.

Manage and grow our social audience while increasing EDM subscribers and site traffic.

Own and execute social competitions and giveaways.

Collaborate with the editorial, partnerships, and editorial teams to ensure alignment.

This is NOT a hands-off, slow-paced planning role.
It’s a blend of content planning, fast publishing, and creative execution. You need to be in the weeds and across all content.

What You Bring:

3–5+ years experience running social media for a publisher, online magazine, or high-volume content brand—preferably in parenting, lifestyle, or family sectors.

Experience in content-first environments—you’ve worked with editorial teams, can write sharp briefs, and understand publishing workflows.

Excellent Instagram and Facebook knowledge (algorithms, analytics, content formats).

Confidence producing on-brand reels and stories using Canva, native tools, or CapCut.

An instinct for identifying content hooks and storytelling moments that drive engagement.

A love for PR and pop culture—you know how to turn an announcement into buzzworthy content.

Proficiency in Canva, Meta Business Suite, Later or Buffer, Google Analytics.

Clear, warm copywriting that speaks to mums with a relatable, fun tone.

Ability to multitask, self-manage, and thrive in a semi-autonomous freelance setup.

Great to Have:

Experience running paid campaigns across Meta platforms.

Familiarity with SEO tools like AHREFs.

Comfort managing influencer/partnership collaborations.

Blog writing skills
