Position: WHS & Training Coordinator
As the WHS & Training Co-Ordinator you will be overseeing multiple locations ranging from day-to-day operations to developing projects.
This multi-site responsibility requires a dynamic approach to health, safety, environmental compliance, and community engagement. Your guidance will be pivotal in aligning our strategies across various locations, ensuring consistency and excellence in all aspects.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Develop, review, and implement/maintain a range of safety policies & procedures, improvement & training programs, contractor management, systems, strategies, and processes in line with ISO 45001.
Ensuring that all safety related processes, procedures and initiatives are consistent and streamlined across the organisation globally.
Manage and improve the Safety Management System.
Conduct investigations, site inspections, and liaise with regulatory authorities as required.
Complete risk assessments.
Ensuring all incidents are reported and investigated and accurate countermeasures are established to ensure any risks identified are managed.
Injury Management responsibilities including:
Supporting injured worker through Injury Management process.
Develop write and manage Return to Work programmes (RTW) when required.
Liaise with insurer, regulator, rehabilitation provider, treating Doctor and any other relevant parties to ensure a satisfactory outcome.
Ensuring there is adequate training relevant to roles including SOPs, safety processes and requirements.
Provide WHS and compliance training for managers, employees, and contractors.
Develop, manage, and deliver training packages that address competency and skill gaps.
Managing the ISO 45001 reaccreditation process, ensuring MTi maintains accreditation.
You will need:
At least 5 years’ experience in a WHS/training focused role.
Demonstrated experience in applying WHS on site.
Graduate Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
A broad knowledge and understanding of the relevant WHS Acts and Regulations, Compliance Codes and Codes of Practices, Australian Standards and Guidance Materials.
MTi operates across many sites in Australia and across the world, the ability to travel regularly is essential.
A 'can do' energetic attitude and action-oriented approach.
First Aid Certificate.
Australian Police Clearance (Obtained within last 2 years) or ability to obtain.
Right to work in Australia
Strong analytical skills and a pragmatic, fit-for purpose approach to WHS systems, policies, and procedure development.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and influence people at all levels of a business.
To be self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously to meet strict deadlines while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
Desirable:
Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety
ISO 45001 or AS/NZS 4801 Lead Auditor Certificate
Grievance or contact officer training.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
