Purpose:

To undertake plant operation and labouring duties within the area of Water, Sewerage and Gas. This position will contribute to the provision of a safe, reliable and sustainable utilities network for the community and Council infrastructure/facilities.

Other position specific conditions:

• This position is required to be rostered for after-hours on-call duties and/or may be required to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:

To be successful, you will need to demonstrate that you meet the below mandatory requirements for the role:

• Current C (Car) Class Driver Licence
• Current MR (Medium Rigid) Class Driver Licence (or ability to obtain within six (6) months of commencement)
• Verification of Skills Level to Competently Operate Mobile Plant (in particular excavator, backhoe, bobcat)
• General Construction Induction (White) Card
• Authorised Person & Local Government Worker Training (in-house training provided)

Although not mandatory, the below qualifications and licences are considered beneficial to the role:

• Operate and Maintain Chainsaws
• ACDC Chemical Accreditation (Certificate and Licence)
• Traffic Management Implementation training
• Certificate II in Plumbing/Drain laying (or equivalent)

Position Details:

• Position based in Roma, QLD
• Full-time, permanent position - 38 hours per week
• Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream B - Level 4-5
