When the wheels stop turning, we’re the ones getting them back on track—literally. Mader Group is growing our Rail team and we’re on the hunt for skilled Locomotive and Track Machine Maintainers ready to take their careers to the next level.

You’ll be hands-on with some of the most powerful machines in the industry—think EMD GT46 locomotives, track machines, and rolling stock. We're talking real field work, not desk jobs disguised as maintenance gigs. If you're Cert III qualified in Mechanical Fitting or Electrotechnology (bonus points for a HV Switching ticket or willingness to get one), this one’s got your name on it.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Scheduled maintenance and breakdowns on locomotives and track machines

Fault finding and diagnostics on drive systems and dynamic braking

Swapping out big-ticket components—traction motors, alternators, compressors, power assemblies

Commissioning, electrical repairs, installations—you know the drill

Working solo and alongside a crew that’s got your back

Reporting straight from the field, where decisions get made

What We’re Looking For:

Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Electrotechnology

HV Switching ticket (or keen to get one—we'll support it)

Strong background in diesel-electric rail maintenance

Rail corridor access, high-risk tickets, and shunting cert? Even better

Full Australian working rights
