About the role
We are seeking experienced Rail Track Workers to join our team at JWB Constructions with head office based in Meadowbrook, Queensland. As a Rail Track Worker, you will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of railway tracks and infrastructure.

JWB are putting together teams to work on various rail projects throughout Queensland and beyond. We are seeking experienced rail workers that are eager to work both locally and remote with the leaders in the rail industry in Australia.

Positions will be both in an ongoing capacity and shorter shutdown type works that can stretch out over weeks and months. Various options to fit your lifestyle!

Roles include:

Rail/Civil Labourers (Including structures/concreting)

Rail/Civil Leading Hands

Rail/Civil Supervisors

Plant Operators

H-Rail Operators

Welders

Welder Offsiders

Track Certifiers

Ultrasonic Testers

HR Drivers

Doggers and Riggers

What you'll be doing

Safely operate various rail track equipment and machinery, including tamping machines, ballast regulators, and rail grinders

Perform track inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks, such as laying sleepers, replacing rails, and tamping ballast

Assist with the construction and installation of new rail infrastructure, including switches and crossings

Conduct routine safety checks and report any defects or issues to the team leader

Collaborate with other members of the track maintenance crew to ensure efficient and coordinated work

Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety standards to maintain a safe work environment

What we're looking for

RIW, WET and SARC credentials (RIW as a minimum)

Proven experience as a Rail Track Worker or in a similar railway maintenance role

Strong understanding of railway track construction and maintenance processes

Ability to operate and maintain various track maintenance equipment and machinery

Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

Commitment to safety and a strong focus on quality workmanship

Willingness to work as part of a team and adapt to changing work environments

Valid driver's licence and the ability to obtain relevant rail safety certifications where required

Rates vary depending on role however are well and truly above market , depending on role. 10-12hr days which includes overtime with night shift options, weekend work and overtime.
