Hugos is a rapidly growing business and has recently acquired some of Australia's iconic brands in confectionery. Having a vertically integrated facility all chocolate is made on site from only the best ingredients.
Reporting to the QA Manager, this role will work as part of the QA team and collaborate with production, packaging and warehouse, ensuring Food Safety and Quality standards are upheld across all the manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and report food safety hazards and quality deviations through the daily walks in production and warehouse areas.
Conduct in-coming raw material inspections.
Conduct in-line product assessments in accordance with Product Specifications.
Review and ensure that all production records are correct and accurate for traceability purposes.
Conduct finished product assessments and issue C of As.
Conduct monthly GMP audit.
Raise non-conformance reports both internally and externally for non-conformities.
Conduct monthly environmental and hand swabs in production areas.
Collect retention samples for external routine Micro, Chemical and Allergen testing.
Conduct product shelf-life assessment.
Maintain and update Approved Supplier Register.
Review and update Food Safety Policies, SOPs and Procedures within the Quality Management System.
Conduct customer complaint investigations.
Participate in the HACCP team to review and update HACCP Plans.
Provide supports to the QA team in all external audits.
Create Product Specifications and PIFs in accordance with customer briefs.
Review artwork for new and existing products for labelling compliance including health claims.
Conduct induction and on-going Food Safety and Quality training to new and existing staff within the organization.
Essential Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience working in FMCG.
Demonstrated experience in GMP and principals of HACCP.
Experienced in RSPO and Rainforest Alliance requirements preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to engage with cross functional teams.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Attention to detail is essential.
Bachelor's degree in food science, or related field.
