The District Support Lead is responsible for providing effective leadership to non-operational team members within the district, ensuring the administration function across the district is effective, efficient and of the highest possible quality.
This is a permanent full-time role based in the Northam District Office working 37.5 hours per week. The role is reporting into the District Operations Manager (DOM), Rural and Remote Operations, and working as part of a dedicated and closeknit team supporting 550 volunteers and over 50 staff throughout the Northern Wheatbelt. The Northern Wheatbelt district covers Jurien Bay in the north to Southern Cross in the East and is bordered by Great Eastern Hwy.
The role will be directly responsible for managing 2 District Support Coordinators, 3 District Office Administrators and 20 District Administration Officers throughout the region. The role will require travel within the Northern Wheatbelt district (in a company pool car) and will ensure that the district support functions are managed in an efficient and effective matter.
What you’ll do:
- Foster a high-performing team culture, ensuring team members have the knowledge, skills and abilities to achieve personal and performance objectives.
- Lead a team of Administration officers throughout the district office and sub centres to ensure effective and efficient administration practices are met.
- Support the District Operations Manager to develop regional, district, and local level strategic partnerships with Health Service providers in the region
- Support the District Operations Manager to develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial sectors to enhance and develop commercial opportunities
- Leverage organisational support and resources to assist sub centres in their efforts to recruit and retain volunteers effectively this includes leading locally based reward and recognition activities.
- Provide support to the DOM to oversee the functions of human resources, administration, financial management, and performance development within the region
- Establish a culture of autonomy and independence at sub centre committees while offering a high level of support
- Provide guidance and supervision to administrative team members within the district, answering queries and being a point of escalation when required.
- Support people to succeed and improve their performance, alongside People Services when required.
- Ensure compliance across the district with sub-centre governance and other relevant policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain systems and documents for local asset management information.
- Facilitate communication throughout the district, ensuring effective dissemination and understanding of information.
What you’ll need:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience in a related field
- Current C class driver’s license
- Desirable: First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of St John Ambulance operations and procedures
- Knowledge of an emergency services environment
- Background in people management including recruitment and retention, employee relations, and performance management
- Experience working with volunteers St John WA
