Balancing Heart Vineyard is a 30-year-old vineyard sitting on top of The Great Dividing Range in the popular fast growing wine region, The Granite Belt. The establishment consists of 25 acres of grapes planted with 14 varieties, a modern cellar door facility that opens 7 days a week, and a production facility where the fruit is processed on site.

A position is open to join an energetic winemaking team as Assistant Winemaker, to the current experienced Winemaker, Mike Hayes. This is a hands-on position and training on site across all aspects of working in a Boutique Winery setting will be made available. The position will not have set hours as during Vintage, there will be work on weekends as well as through the week. The position will be broken down to 3 areas, Vineyard, Winery, Cellar Door/Marketing.

The position as Assistant Winemaker of Balancing Heart requires dedication, a strong work ethic, and most of all resilience. The position will require manual labour and computer skills with record keeping an essential part of the job. Presentation will always remain at a high standard with personal hygiene to be adhered to at all times.

The Balancing Heart Vineyard and winemaking Philosophy is that of minimal intervention, low chemical and no additives winemaking ( eg no added Acid, no Oak etc). This is the style you will be trained in and expected to continue our Philosophy. This philosophy is not new, its been widely used across Europe for thousands of years. We also do not use Wine Barrels due to the low sustainability that barrels and the removal of 150-200 year old trees provides. We want to see trees that old kept on this planet and not destroyed simply to satisfy peoples personal tastes.

· This unique role offers you in your first year the opportunity to learn and make your first wine with your name to it in our 2026 vintage. We hope this to be the first of many wines with your name on them into the future years.

· Assisting in the Cellar Door at various times
