About the Role

The Lazy Greyhound Hotel Group is the owner of two iconic local hotels, The Great Northern Hotel at Teralba (Lake Macquarie) and the soon-to-be-opened George Darby Hotel at Newcastle.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our team.

This is a permanent part-time position of 20 hours per week working from 9:30am until 2:30pm Monday to Thursday.

You will be based at the offices of the George Darby Hotel located on the corner of Darby and King Streets in Newcastle.

Working in the hospitality industry, no two days are ever the same, however what remains constant is the need for a structured, organized, efficient and effective “back of house” operation that provides gold standard support to the business.

Your responsibilities will be varied and will include all of the necessary support and assistance to ensure that our team has the necessary tools and support to provide world class warm, friendly service and offerings.

Some examples of your tasks and responsibilities could include:

Responding to emails and overseeing multiple mailboxes.

Assisting in the preparation of human resources documentation and procedures.

Organise and coordinate meetings, taking minutes and following up the resulting action items.

Assist with the preparation of various financial and non-financial weekly reports for the management teams.

Co-ordination of individual projects.

Manage and maintain schedules and appointments.

Data entry.

Answering telephone enquiries.

Liaise with external stakeholders on behalf of the management team.

General day-to-day administrational requirements.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role with have:

Attention to detail.

Can do attitude.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.

Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and appropriately prioritize tasks, including dealing with unexpected and changing deadlines.

Sound IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft packages, including excel, and the ability and willingness to learn and operate other IT apps and software.

The ability and willingness to work autonomously without direct supervision.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Great organizational skills.

Team player.

Previous experience in the hospitality industry is not essential.

The role is a permanent part-time with a remuneration package pf $38 per hour plus superannuation plus free car parking.
