SkyHigh is open every day and has various catering outlets to cater to the large volume of customers that we attract.

About the opportunity:

This position would suit someone who is ready for step up from junior sous or similar position. The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience in a multi outlet venue or have experience in a variety of establishments. Key requirements of the position include an understanding of labour and food costings, the ability to train and supervise other kitchen staff, a good knowledge of food trends and the ability to work within a team.

You will be responsible for:

  • Producing high quality food
  • All Health and Safety requirements of the kitchen
  • Stocktakes, ordering and stock rotation
  • Ensuring busy services are controlled with cleanliness, speed and efficiency
  • Delivering outstanding dining experiences through consistent and prompt service
  • Taking charge of menu changes and specials, using your creativity to produce exciting plates
  • Minimising wastage and ensuring cost control for maximum business profitability
  • Roster adjustments
  • Staff management

You will also:

  • Have an impeccable work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Be able to work autonomously
  • Work closely with the front of house team
  • Have a good knowledge of industry trends
  • Be exceptionally well organised and have acute attention to detail
  • Have a positive, can-do attitude and be a team player
  • Be a creative thinker, quick learner and problem solver
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
