The Rose of Australia is a new and exciting a la carte European fusion-food restaurant, and our little brother is The Captains bistro, bar and eatery located in the heart of Williamstown. About the role

Recruiting all positions (Commis, CDP and Sous Chef)!!!

Role Overview: We are seeking passionate and creative Chefs and Cooks to join our kitchen team. You will play a key role in executing a diverse and seasonal menu. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is confident with modern gastropub and a la carte service, and is eager to contribute in a collaborative and energetic team.

Enjoy a flexible roster full time across 7 days including weekends & public holidays

What we´re looking for

To be successful in this role it is essential you:

Ensure the highest attention to detail is taken at all stages of the cooking & presentation process

Prepare and cook food in a timely manner

Have strong communication skills and are receptive to feedback

Have a positive attitude and understand the importance of team work & integrity

Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen at all times

Minimum two years full-time experience in a similar role

Fully qualified as a chef (applicable for the Sous Chef and CDP)

What you´ll be doing

As a Sous Chef or CDP, you will be repsonsible for:

Preparing, cooking and serving food in accordance with menus, ensuring a high level of quality and presentation according to agreed standards

Keeping abreast of current food trends and techniques

Assist with ordering food supplies & stock control

Overseeing the appropriate receiving and storage of food ingredients

Fostering a sound and positive working relationship with kitchen and front of house staff

Providing training to kitchen staff

Maintaining kitchen equipment and plant in good condition

Maintaining HACCP procedures and practices

Appropriate food & waste management
