Position – Queensland FIFO/DIDO

We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team on a long-term basis at a leading Tier 1 Mine in Central Queensland. This is a embedded Contract role on site in the owners team, reporting to the Superintendent G&TS.

This role focuses on enhancing our engineering governance frameworks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of engineering standards, ensure adherence to quality processes, and help teams align with best practices.

Key duties for this role are to:

Support engineering governance by ensuring compliance with relevant standards and processes.

Assist in quality assurance initiatives to maintain the highest standards in project execution.

Foster alignment among engineering teams regarding practices and standards.

Conduct assessments and reviews of existing protocols to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Engage with multiple stakeholders to effectively manage engineering governance activities and uphold quality standards.

Ensure compliance with client policies, procedures, and systems.

Cultivate a positive and productive working culture.

Work a 4/4 or 4/3 roster on-site; FIFO (Brisbane) or DIDO options available, with flexibility for work from home.

A strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development.

Relevant Civil Engineering degree with RPEQ certification (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) is essential.

Proven experience in civil engineering within the mining/civil sector, with a preference for a focus on governance rather than project delivery.

Familiarity with BHP standards and practices is advantageous.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration with various stakeholders.

A proactive approach, complemented by excellent time management and task prioritisation abilities.

Previous experience in coal operations, particularly with Glencore/BHP/BMA, is highly regarded.
