Award: Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander Health Workers & Practitioners Award (ATSIHWP), Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services Award (ACCHSA) 2020

Classification: Grade 5

Salary: $100,000 (Above Award)

Responsible to: Human Resource Manager

At Nganampa Health Council we’ve been providing health care to the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara people in the far northwest of South Australia for 40 years and we’re proud of our track record improving health outcomes in the community. We operate clinics in 6 main communities on the APY Lands, with a workforce operating both on and off the lands. Our admin office in Alice Springs is the hub of our activities and the centre for the Business Support Team.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Human Resource Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our staff and be responsible for providing support to the small HR team in various areas, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and have a strong understanding of HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with all HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with benefits administration, including onboarding, variations and terminations
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with employee relations issues, including investigations and conflict resolution
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HR-related information

Who we are looking for?

  • you have recent experience in HR coordination and/or have HR qualifications
  • you have an understanding of Australian employment law and experience in interpreting HR policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and have used HRIS systems.
  • you're organised, efficient, pay attention to details, and enjoy administration tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • you’re interested in developing your career in a small team where you'll be exposed to all aspects of HR
  • Must have Australian Work Rights and live or willing to live in Alice Springs NT.
