MARS Recruitment is delighted to announce its collaboration with a prominent financial services company. They are currently searching for a Financial Reporting Manager to become a part of their high-performing team.

This position offers an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Financial Reporting Manager with a background in overseeing financial control and reporting functions. The company is distinguished by its high-performance and collaborative culture.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation of statutory financial statements for the Group and its subsidiaries, managing half-year and year-end reporting cycles, including ASX compliance deliverables.
• Oversee month-end close activities, including Group consolidation, cash flow reporting, intercompany transaction review, and elements of board reporting.
• Manage the external audit process to ensure timely completion of half-year reviews and full-year audits.
• Prepare technical accounting position papers on key issues and evolving accounting standards and interpretations.
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of regulatory compliance reports to APRA, ABS, and other statutory bodies.
• Stay abreast of changes in accounting and disclosure requirements; collaborate with relevant teams to plan and implement these changes in financial reports and supporting processes.
• Lead ad hoc projects and analysis, including providing technical accounting input for M&A transactions.
• Maintain and enhance the internal control environment for financial reporting, ensuring adherence to financial policies and procedures.
• Manage and mentor financial accountants, providing coaching, identifying development needs, and conducting performance reviews.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across Treasury, Securitisation, Trust Management, Compliance, Operations, Credit, and Risk.
• Evaluate and implement improvements to processes and controls, enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting functions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline systems, workflows, and reporting processes.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of financial reporting and technical accounting, with hands-on experience consolidating large and complex group structures.
• Proven track record in assessing, designing, and implementing internal control frameworks.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, with a strong grasp of Australian Accounting Standards.
• Background in Big 4 audit, ideally with exposure to ASX-listed clients.
• Experience in financial reporting within the financial services sector is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with ERP accounting systems (preferred).
