The Role

As the Senior Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the operational finance success of the organisation. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance and working closely with the CFO, you will oversee a wide range of responsibilities, including managing month end, driving group management and performance reporting, and spearheading finance process and system improvement initiatives. Your expertise will contribute to the enhancement of monthly management reporting, ensuring accurate and compliant financial data entry, and analysing operational and project expenses.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a large and evolving team of operational accountants, all based in Sydney
• Cultivate relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including General Managers of IT, Marketing, Risk, Compliance, and Property.
• Spearhead system improvements and streamline financial procedures.
• Supervise month-end operations, encompassing P&L, Balance Sheet, and General Ledger statements.
• Create and evaluate monthly results and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with the Commercial Finance team to guide the transactions team during the budgeting process.
• Coordinate with the Financial and Tax Reporting team to navigate the transactions team through semi-annual and annual year-end processes such as audits.
• Manage the financial aspects of business acquisitions and divestitures.
• Conduct assessments and grant approvals for financial disbursements.
• Administer transactional banking, merchant services, and other payment solutions.
• Lead multiple streamlining projects across the organisation

Your Profile:

The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Our client seeks a Finance Manager adept at financial reporting, stakeholder management, and leading a medium to large sized team in their current role, ideally across AP, AR and operational finance positions.

The key to success with this position will be the ability to influence, manage change, and build strong relationships.

You will be CPA/CA qualified and be more than comfortable in being in the office, being surrounded by people, impacting culture, developing people and process.
