They currently have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and driven Senior Financial Accountant to join their team. Reporting directly into the financial controller, this function runs the day-to-day finance operations and plays a key role in month-end and year-end processes.

In this senior position you will have two direct reports handling AP/AR and payroll functions, to mentor and guide through their finance career. You will ensure the smooth operation of the finance team, and accurate productions of financial records and reports. This role will see you managing payments, payroll and banking processes as well as improving systems and performance.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Month-end and year-end close activities
• Review and analyse monthly financial results to consult leadership
• Manage general ledger operations and balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensure and maintain compliance including FBT, BAS, GST, and ATO reporting
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and analyses
• Support quarterly forecasts and annual budget processes
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit deliverables
• Mentor, coach, and develop the AP & AR team
• Consult, support and liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Drive process and system improvements

What we’re looking for:

• Accounting, Finance, or Commerce Degree + CA or CPA qualified
• Demonstrated experience in a senior financial accounting role
• Proven leadership skills with experience in managing direct reports
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial compliance
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial management systems (exposure to Netsuite ideal but not necessary)
• Detail-oriented, highly organised, and calm under pressure
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
• A collaborative, consultative, and solutions-focused mindset
