Job Description
The Technical, Coordination and Logistics (TCL) department offers a range of services within Griffith University's Science Group (GSC), including the procurement of scientific consumables through the TCL Science Stores located at the Nathan and Gold Coast campuses. Additionally, the TCL Science Stores provide delivery point services for the broader University community on these campuses. The TCL department manages access to Science allocated spaces, provides technical management for the group's building assets, and logistics support for the Science Group.
As a Logistics Officer, you’ll assist with the coordination and provision of all Stores operational services. Some of these services include operation of manned delivery point services, distribution of deliveries received, supply of scientific & technical goods to relevant clients, assist with the provision and continued supply of TCL Store stock to clients, and maintaining appropriate stock levels within the Store. The role will also assist arranging transportation of items between campuses and to external parties, and support the University in appropriate storage of chemicals, including chemical waste.
This role involves a high level of manual handling, requiring the ability to safely lift, move, and manage various materials and equipment on a regular basis.
The Logistics Officer interacts with clients from a broad range of academic disciplines, Corporate Services Finance staff and external suppliers of goods and services.
About you
The successful candidate will hold relevant tertiary qualifications up to Certificate level with subsequent relevant practical experience, or a combination of equivalent qualifications and relevant training.
You will also:
- Hold a current forklift licence. If you do not hold a current forklift license, the University will assist you in gaining this.
- Hold a current class C drivers’ licence (manual preferred).
- Have a strong customer focus with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with stakeholders and team members.
- Have a proven ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and deliver outcomes under broad direction.
- Be proficient in computer systems, including databases, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Be a quick and proactive learner, adaptable to evolving operational needs in a research-intensive environment.
- Have experience in retail or warehousing, with knowledge of hazardous chemicals and scientific consumables, and a flexible approach to supporting multi-campus operations.
What we can offer
This is a continuing, full time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan). As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 3 range $64,938 - $71,784 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $75,978 - $83,987 per annum.
