Product Analyst

6-month initial assignment - hybrid Melbourne CBD + WFH - $675 - $720 per day (including super) - Well known Australian company

Key accountabilities:

• Conduct analysis and gather insights on customer behaviour, competitors and relationships within the products portfolio to ensure our products meet customers' needs across every market and channel.
• Pulling together data & insights to help inform new product development
• Understand monthly portfolio performance – report back key drivers and areas for improvement
• Track existing product performance for P&L purposes whilst also working to optimise the overall portfolio of bundles and a la carte products to ensure overall profitability is achieved.
• Work with the finance team on monthly P&L reporting
• Work closely with product specialist to ensure the right customer insights and commercials drive product design decisions across the portfolio
• Dig into performance and drivers of performance
• Opportunity sizing – new initiatives or ones in the backlog
• Bottom-up builds and inputs into business cases
• Data visualisation: develop slide packs to present and communicate/present these to stakeholders
• Working across disparate datasets, pulling out the right insights and feeding it back to the business in meaningful ways; communicate the numbers/data and what they mean

Selection criteria:

• Experience in economics, business, finance, strategy and product management
• Previous experience in a similar role – ability to hit the ground running
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL and Microsoft PowerPoint
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with individuals at all levels
• Strong problem-solving, strategic and analytical skills
• Commercial and financial acumen highly regarded
• A team player who also works autonomously with situational support from team members and management
• Self-starter who enjoys problem solving and identifying opportunities
