Red Arrow Australia is currently seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer – Mine Automation to lead testing and validation across mobile autonomous platforms. This site-based role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster, working directly on advanced automation systems in real-world environments. You'll be part of a collaborative, agile team pushing the boundaries of mining innovation.

Please Note – This is a senior technical role requiring 5+ years' experience in test engineering. We are not accepting graduate or entry-level applications at this time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Validating functional and technical requirements for mobile autonomy projects
• Developing and executing structured manual and automated test cases
• Creating test plans, reports, bug documentation, and traceability matrices
• Diagnosing functionality faults across hardware and software components
• Supporting integration, regression, and performance testing efforts
• Collaborating with engineering and product teams to define and refine test coverage
• Providing technical training and test process input to operational teams
• Assisting in building training documentation and supporting deployment teams in the field

To be successful in this position, you must have:

• 5+ years' experience in a Test Engineer / QA / Validation role
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows, and software/hardware test integration
• Experience with test automation frameworks, such as Behave or Robot Framework
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, and industrial systems like CAN Bus, ROS/ROS2, DDS
• Hands-on experience with test planning and issue resolution in Agile environments
• Strong communication and documentation skills using tools like Jira and Confluence
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline

Additional Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s Licence (C Class)
• Ability to pass a full site medical
• Must have unrestricted work rights in Australia
• Ability to provide a National Police Clearance
