Duration: Approximate 12-month contract with possibility of extension

Pay rate: $75.94 - $84.15 per hour plus 12% superannuation (as of July 2025)

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud and Automation Engineer (EL1) to play a key role in driving digital transformation within our Federal Government client's agency. This is an opportunity is for Cloud and Automation Engineers to use their in-dept knowledge of ICT infrastructure and applications to provide efficiencies through automation and deployment in day-to-day activities. You will be required to work closely with business areas to enure the provisioning of a robust infrastructure and application capability in line with vendor requirements and departmental coding best practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, maintain and support automation of ICT Infrastructure and applications
• Develop, maintain and support the department's VRealize Automation (vRA) Platform
• Create blueprints and workflows that aim to improve efficiencies of daily operaional tasks
• Develop code/scripts in line with the departmental standards

EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

Extensive knowledge and experience in:

1. VMWare Aria Automation and Orchestrator
2. VMWare vSphere
3. SaltStack
4. Javascript, Powershell and Python scripting languages

Desirable:

1. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of laaS, Paas and XaaS with VMWare Aria Automation
2. Demonstrated experience developing complex workflows and VMWare Orchestrator
3. Demonstrated proficiency in Javascript, Powershell and Python
