Location: Brisbane (preferred), Melbourne or Canberra
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 50% in-office, 50% work-from-home
Contract to: 31 December 2025 (with possible extensions)
Security Clearance: Must be an Australian Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Baseline clearance
Rate: $60–$95 per hour (excluding superannuation), commensurate with experience

About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer (APS6 equivalent) to join a dynamic federal government team delivering critical ICT solutions. This role is ideal for a test professional with SAP CRM experience, strong technical acumen, and leadership capabilities.

As the Senior Test Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring solutions meet quality, performance, and functional requirements. You’ll also mentor junior team members, manage a small team, and contribute to testing strategy and execution across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute complex test cases using detailed technical analysis
• Develop and review test plans, task cards, and supporting test data
• Conduct reviews of test cases and ensure testing best practices
• Record and analyse test results, reporting unexpected outcomes
• Create and manage test data in external software vendor environments
• Identify and document defects and operational issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and test automation
• Define test environment requirements
• Lead and manage a small testing team, including performance, priorities, and wellbeing
• Coach and mentor junior testers

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in SAP CRM application testing
• Strong background in testing complex systems
• Excellent technical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing testing teams
• Experience in test planning, execution, and defect management
• Mentoring or coaching experience with junior team members
