Council is offering an exciting opportunity to join our forward-thinking Information Technology department as a Web Systems Administrator within the Applications and Development team. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s web-based systems and services, including our external-facing websites, intranet, and a range of other web platforms and applications.

You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing existing web systems while also driving the design and delivery of new web-based solutions. This may involve working independently or in collaboration with external providers to ensure high-quality outcomes. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities such as managing web systems on a day-to-day basis, developing in-house web applications, integrating third-party components, coordinating with external vendors, customising and configuring systems, and performing business analysis to ensure our digital solutions meet organisational goals.

Your other key focus areas are;

Ensure the security and reliability of the Council’s web-based systems

Provide expert technical advice on the design and development of Council’s web-based systems

Manage significant web-based projects to achieve planned corporate outcomes, within time and budget constraints

Design, develop and implement in-house web-based software solutions.

Customise, integrate and implement externally sourced web-based software packages.

LET’S HEAR ABOUT YOU

You will bring substantial experience in administering web-based systems along with a proven ability to design, develop, implement, and support web-based solutions in a corporate environment. You will have a strong understanding of software development methodologies and stay current with emerging technologies relevant to web platforms. You will also have a strong understanding of ASP.NET, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, and be confident applying these technologies to troubleshoot, build and maintain user-focused web applications. With a customer-focused approach to technical service delivery, you will be capable of independently planning and managing your workload at a senior level to align with organisational objectives.

Strong interpersonal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to lead technical outcomes within cross-disciplinary teams. You will be confident managing large or complex projects, analysing technical challenges, and delivering effective, practical solutions. Building and maintaining productive relationships with clients, colleagues, and suppliers will be a key part of your role.

Enterprise Agreement pay increase of 3 per cent effective July 2025
