The Queensland Nurses and Midwives' Union (QNMU) is the primary industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public, private, and aged care sectors in Queensland. Reporting to the Director of Business Services your focus in this role will be to provide high quality administrative support to the Director and Team Line Managers as directed, to ensure the functional area operates efficiently and effectively.

This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract Parental Leave cover role with an ideal commencement of 18 August 2025.

Who we’re looking for:

Working as part of a busy team, you will possess a professional demeanour with a strong work ethic and the demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Consistently displaying a collaborative and team-focused approach to your work, you will have the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

Previous experience in a similar role;

Advanced administrative processes and practices

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft 365 products – particularly Teams, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Demonstrated knowledge coupled with practical experience in using electronic document and Records Management Systems

Initiative, discretion and good judgement within a broad range of the required skills

and knowledge

Demonstrated sound level written and verbal communication skills coupled with sound level interpersonal skills

Ability to work as a team member and take a collaborative approach to work

Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, establish priorities, use initiative and be proactive in raising and dealing with issues

What are the benefits?

Starting base salary of $88,507.21 per annum

5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading

Monthly RDO’s (13 per year) or option to work compressed hours 9 day fortnight

Christmas closure – no leave required
