Position Overview
Based at the Kyogle, Bonalbo, or Woodenbong Works Depot, the Maintenance Foreman acts as the key link between the General Works Overseer and the road maintenance team. You’ll coordinate daily activities, supervise maintenance crews, and ensure all works are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
· Coordinate labour and plant resources to deliver planned maintenance activities.
· Supervise day-to-day works relating to roads, drainage, and public assets.
· Schedule inspections and minor works in line with asset management systems.
· Complete timesheets, daily running sheets, and cost tracking accurately.
· Ensure safe work practices and environmental controls are followed.
· Provide on-site guidance, motivation, and communication to your team.
· Participate in the after-hours call-out roster and respond to emergencies when required.
Essential Criteria:
· Certificate III in Civil Construction (Road Construction and Maintenance) or equivalent experience.
· Proven ability to schedule and coordinate road maintenance operations.
· Strong skills in resource planning, cost estimation, and documentation.
· Demonstrated supervisory experience in civil works or construction.
· Sound working knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management, and environmental compliance.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· White Card (General Construction Induction) and Class C Driver’s Licence.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience in Local Government operations.
· Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
· Traffic Control Ticket.
