About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Team Lead (Senior Area Coordinator) to lead our afternoon shift production team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily production operations, driving team performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be instrumental in optimizing production workflows and maintaining high operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Lead the afternoon shift Area Coordinator & production team in Ham Manufacture to achieve daily production targets, ensuring optimal performance across the shift.
  • Efficient Operations: Oversee the changeover process, ensuring these activities are carried out efficiently and in line with operational standards.
  • Process Optimization: Work collaboratively with production staff to identify areas for improvement, driving process optimization initiatives that enhance overall efficiency and performance.
  • Production Planning: Regularly review production plans in partnership with the Area Manager, ensuring alignment with goals and operational needs.
  • Quality & Safety Oversight: Take full responsibility for the quality of all products on the designated line/area for your shift, with a strong focus on ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, leading the team through change and fostering a culture of innovation that drives operational excellence.
  • Team Management & Development: Oversee the management of daily rostering, team engagement, performance expectations, communication, assessments, training, and rewards & recognition, ensuring a motivated and high-performing workforce in the designated production area.

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven Leadership Expertise: Strong leadership experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment, with a track record of successfully guiding and motivating teams.
  • Effective Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate information clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences.
  • Customer-Centric Focus: Committed to understanding the expectations of both internal and external customers, consistently placing the customer at the heart of decision-making.
  • Team Engagement & Culture: Skilled in fostering team engagement, driving cultural transformation, and implementing continuous process improvements to enhance team performance.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, establishing strong, productive relationships across the organisation.
  • Adaptability in Fast-Paced Environments: Highly adaptable, thriving in dynamic settings and quick decision-making scenarios, with a proactive approach to change.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experienced in SAP for inventory control management, alongside strong general computer skills.
