EP is a 100% Australian owned food manufacturer that hand make fresh, bespoke, premium quality dressings and sauces. We supply portion control across multiple formats to a range of partners in the retail and food service sectors that supply customers nationally. Business growth year on year for the past 5 years with peak production periods over the summer months sees EP employing approximate 80 permanent and casual employees.

The Role

The Factory Team Leader is a newly created role at EP Food Company and will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our production facility.

This position works with the Production Supervisors and is responsible for overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring safety & quality procedures are followed, and production targets are met. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of food manufacturing processes, and the ability to foster a positive work environment.

Duties

Team Supervision: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of production workers to achieve production goals and maintain high standards of quality.

Production Management: Oversee daily operations on the factory floor, ensuring that production schedules are met, changes are effectively communicated and any issues are promptly reported to the Production Supervisors and addressed.

Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure all team members adhere to company policies and procedures. Conduct regular safety inspections and report any concerns.

Training and Development: Provide training to new employees; assist in ensuring weekly training objectives are met and ongoing coaching to team members to improve skills, efficiency, and safety awareness.

Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality standards. Work closely with the quality control team to address any discrepancies.

Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any operational issues that arise during production. Implement corrective actions identified by the wider team to prevent recurrence.

Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production outputs, attendance, and any incidents on the factory floor. Report on team performance and production metrics.

Continuous Improvement: Work collaboratively with management to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Work Criteria

Available to work a flexible mid-shift

Proven experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar role in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes and factory floor operations.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Must Have

Reliable car and valid driver's license due to limited public transport
