We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced leader to join our organisation as the Coordinator of Community Laws.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the delivery of high-quality Community Laws services, overseeing a range of key functions including local laws, amenity and safety programs, animal management services, and community education.

You will be responsible for leading a dynamic team to ensure service delivery is efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused. Your work will contribute directly to community safety and amenity, and you will play an integral role in broader strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the Community Laws team to achieve strong performance outcomes.
  • Developing and implementing strategies, policies, and business/service plans aligned with organisational values and service expectations.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to deliver responsive and effective services.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships across the organisation and the community to ensure collaboration and strong service outcomes.
  • Identifying risks and opportunities to enhance service delivery and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of projects, plans, and change initiatives on time and within budget.

About You

You are a confident and experienced leader, ready to take on a key role in the coordination and improvement of vital community services. Your background is grounded in local government, compliance, legal, or a related field, and you bring a strong understanding of service delivery, regulatory functions, and stakeholder engagement.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in people leadership, with a focus on developing high-performing teams.
  • Proven capability in strategic planning, service delivery, and business performance.
  • The ability to lead change, implement improvements, and deliver operational efficiencies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships internally and externally.
  • A solution-focused and adaptable approach to problem solving in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and alignment with organisational values and behaviours.
