Job Summary

This is a full time role as Financial Accountant at Witt Consulting. You will report to the Operations Manager and will provide financial, commercial and administrative support to Senior Management

This role will suit someone with a minimum of 2 years experience in a hands-on finance role within a complex or project-based organisation. You will need to have strong Excel skills, high-level stakeholder engagement, and be able to drive continuous improvement of business processes.

$70,000 to 140,000 plus super (depending on experience)

Office-Based

Key responsibilities:

Follow up overdue invoices

Reconcile accounts receivables and payable

Ensure payroll and any human resource requirements are processed as per contractual and legislative requirements

Review completed billable work to identify if there is sufficient information to prepare an invoice/payment claim, advise civil engineering staff what information is required to be able to request payment

Liaise with clients, suppliers, staff and other stakeholders to achieve the above requirements

Issue payment claims and invoices by due date, with all required documentation, following approval of Project Manager

Ensure accounts payable are processed by the due date and all payments to suppliers accord with Supplier and Subcontractor Management Procedures

Ensure all tax and payroll filings are up to date

Review contracts and make recommendations for departures

Skills and Competencies:

Tertiary qualification in relevant field preferred

Familiar with Xero or similar software

Minimum 2-year experience in a similar role

Strong working knowledge of Excel, with experience managing multiple data files.

Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to work with complex data and systems, delivering clear and actionable insights.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex financial data for non‑finance stakeholders
