Joining our finance team at MTE in our Edinburgh offices, the Accounts Payable Officer will oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process ensuring the smooth processing of invoices, maintaining accurate AP reports and providing general finance support to the greater finance department. This role will be suited to a dynamic accounts payable professional that is able to provide both accuracy and efficiency, coupled with a teamwork mentality and the understanding of ownership. Taking this role and making it your own will be instrumental in ensuring this critical role functions seamlessly within the business, so having maturity to problem solve and prioritise is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-end accounts payable functions including but not limited to:

Supplier record maintenance in our finance system (new suppliers, changes to existing suppliers etc.)

Responsibility for the processing of invoices, or overseeing those that are assisting with data entry

Electronic storage of invoices in a logical manner

Processing supplier credit notes

Assisting in the selection of payments to be included in the weekly payment runs, and the preparation of the payment run

Monthly reporting

Reconciliation of supplier statements.

Assisting with the bank reconciliation as required.

Completion of supplier credit applications.

Managing the Accounts Payable email inbox.

Representing the company in a courteous and professional manner.

Contribute to finance process development and innovation by identifying process improvements and efficiency gains for accounts payable related policies and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in AP role essential.

Exceptional attention to detail whilst working to deadlines.

Experience in Reckon an advantage.
