Job Opportunity
We’re seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team for 30 hours per week, with flexible days and hours. Ideal for someone seeking shorter workdays or 4 days per week.
The Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the end-to-end processing invoices, employee expenses, and credit card transaction, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies. This role involves maintaining the open payables ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly, supporting month-end closing activities, and fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
Full function Accounts Payable duties
Accurately process a high volume of invoices and ensure they are matched to purchase orders and receipts, adhering to company policies.
Processing monthly credit card transactions into the financial systems.
Build and maintain positive relationships with our suppliers and vendors, handling inquiries and resolving any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner
Ensure that all payments are processed on time, and assist in reconciling accounts to maintain accurate financial records
Assist in month-end closing relating to accounts payable.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and procedures. Assist with internal and external audits when required
Provide basic support to A/R functions as required
Other duties that are assigned to you by your manager.
Skills
Accounting or business qualifications desirable.
Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in an accounting environment, with a focus on Accounts Payable.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously in previous standalone AP positions.
The ability to identify discrepancies or issues within accounts and take the initiative to resolve them promptly
Strong attention to detail, organisation skills and proficiency in financial reconciliation processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and vendors
Proficient in Microsoft office such as word and excel
A collaborative approach to work and an eagerness to support your team in achieving common goals
