Gambling Awareness Engagement Officer
Full Time – 38 Hours Per Week

As the Gambling Awareness Engagement Officer, you'll engage directly with individuals and families, delivering culturally safe education, informal support, and community-based initiatives that empower positive change. About the Role
As the Gambling Awareness Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for delivering culturally appropriate gambling harm prevention programs, education sessions, and community support across the Greater Shepparton region. Your work will include facilitating workshops and yarning circles, supporting individuals and families affected by gambling, and connecting them with counselling, financial services, and other supports. You will also collaborate with internal teams, local gaming venues, and external service providers to advocate for self-exclusion programs and holistic care pathways. This role is hands-on, community-focused, and essential to building stronger, more resilient Aboriginal communities.
About You
You are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Experience in community development, health promotion, or support work.
Knowledge and skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of the impacts of gambling on Aboriginal communities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of the social, emotional, and financial impacts of gambling on individuals, families, and communities
Understands the importance of confidentiality in Aboriginal communities
Experience with reporting writing and data collection
What We Offer:
Competitive pay and conditions based on the SCHADS Award – Level 3 Pay Point 1-4 based on experience and qualifications.
Salary packaging of $15,900 available for Part- or Full-time employees.
