Your new role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who is passionate about health, safety and wellbeing. This role will be based in Brisbane and you will be a part of the QPU Industrial division. This is a varied, busy and challenging role, with an emphasis on a team environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
· Provide advice regarding Health Safety and Wellbeing matters.
· Participating in WHS inspection audits and risk assessments, escalating any safety issues to management for review and rectification.
· Researching, producing reports and briefing notes related to workplace health and safety issues.
· Representing members’ health safety and wellbeing interests and participating in Queensland Police Service committees.
Essential Criteria:
· In-depth knowledge of current Queensland WHS legislation and Codes of Practice in the Queensland Public Sector.
· At least two years' experience as a Workplace, Health and Safety Officer or similar. (Public sector experience highly regarded)
· Cert IV or above qualification in Work, Health and Safety, industrial relations, human resource management, business management or law, or another complementary area.
· Ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals at multiple levels
· Ability to prioritise tasks and achieve agreed timelines
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communications and presentation skills
· Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
· Experience as a representative at consultative forums
· C Class Driver’s licence
· Ability to travel intrastate as required
· Ability to pass a comprehensive police check
