About the Role
Join a dynamic team working on a pioneering magnesium development project in Australia. This role focuses on the engineering and optimisation of materials handling systems across the project's lifecycle — from concept design through to construction and commissioning.

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing solutions that ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable transport, storage, and processing of raw and refined materials. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and integrate mechanical systems that support production scale-up and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and contribute to the design and development of bulk materials handling systems (e.g. conveyors, chutes, feeders, crushers, screens, stackers, reclaimers).

Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, datasheets, and technical reports.

Perform mechanical calculations, equipment sizing, and layout development.

Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across projects, including process, structural, and electrical engineers.

Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure technical requirements are met.

Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities as required.

Ensure compliance with relevant Australian and international standards, codes, and project specifications.

About You

Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 8 years of mechanical design experience in the mining, minerals, or heavy industrial sectors.

Strong background in materials handling systems and associated equipment.

Demonstrated experience in delivering mechanical designs across the project lifecycle.

Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and mechanical design codes.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and engineering tools.

Proven ability to manage technical aspects of large, multidisciplinary projects.

Strong communication and collaboration skills with a practical, solution-focused mindset.
