Due to growth, we are seeking a Technician to join our team. As a member of the Control Room business, you will be part of a cross skilled team group that consults, designs, supplies & installs, and provides after care of control rooms.

We support all major industries including Energy, Resources, Infrastructure, Emergency Services, Transport, Defence and Space.

Position Overview:

The role is based in our Perth headquarters (located near the International Airport) and will report directly to the Mechanical Drafter (Console Designer) of CADwalk Critical Rooms.

We are looking for a passionate and highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to develop, design, and deliver innovative mechanical solutions that align with client requirements. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to create detailed mechanical designs, support manufacturing processes, and help bring visionary projects from concept to reality.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components and systems using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Create detailed 2D and 3D models, drawings, and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.

Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to refine design requirements and deliver optimised solutions.

Conduct design analysis, calculations, and simulations to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance with relevant standards.

Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation activities to verify design performance.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying innovative approaches and process enhancements.

Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).

Minimum 3 years' experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role (preferably in a project-based environment).

Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks experience highly regarded).

Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

High attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team.

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in control room, simulation, or technical environment fit-outs.

Knowledge of VR/AR technologies as applied to design and visualisation.
