A brand-new role for an experienced records management SME with the drive and capability to consult, design, establish, maintain and manage information and records management practices for a small commonwealth agency.

This is initially available as a 9-month labour hire contract, with a review to determine a way forward past the initial term. The hourly rate will be paid at $80-$82 per hour plus 11.5% super.

What can you expect from this role?

As a member of the ICT team, you will work autonomously and be confident and capable of working across the Agency to develop strong internal relationships that will help you champion a positive and respected approach to accurate and compliant records management.

Looking at the existing systems in place, you will review and assess what’s in place before applying your expertise in the management of digital and manual records, knowledge of the Archives Act 1983, and knowledge of disposal and sentencing processes to improve practices and ensure the records management approach is future-proofed.

You will define new policies and procedures and then be responsible for building the knowledge across the Agency through training on expectations, processes and compliance. You will also then seamlessly integrate this system with other agency systems, such as SharePoint.

What do you need to bring to this role?

A proven track record in records management of course! You will need to confidently demonstrate your knowledge of records management governance and be across the relevant regulatory and legislative requirements. More importantly, you are a skilled and influential communicator and can easily seek support and buy-in to ensure adherence to your revamped systems.

Your experience in designing, implementing and managing records systems means you love establishing a good audit process and spot-check system, can work closely with the CIO to perform required archiving functions, know how to monitor and report effectively to show just how well your new system is performing, and of course can translate the required information into digestible content for all agency staff, regardless of level.

The nitty gritty?

This is a 9-month labour-hire contract, paid on an hourly rate with a weekly pay cycle.

The rate is $80-$82 per hour plus super, and no it is not negotiable unfortunately.

You do need to be an Australian citizen, but no clearance is required to commence. You will need to obtain a national police check.
This role is to work in a hybrid arrangement with 2-3 days work from home balanced with an office presence. Offices are located in Canberra, Sydney and Melbourne – so we are open to these three locations.
