My client is a leading engineering and manufacturing business located in Fairfield. It is a mid sized employer looking to expand. The company manufactures capital equipment and undertakes project work.

Right now they have an opportunity for a similarly minded company accountant with a background in financial and cost accounting to join the team. While some background in capital equipment manufacturing or assembly and project work is desirable, candidates who have worked in a startup environment and have a balanced approach to risk are encouraged to apply. Your ability to balance risk and deal with ambiquity is what will set you apart.

About the Role:

This is an important and hands on accounting role responsible for the day to day financial management of the business including cash flow management, job costing and systems development and improvement.

Duties Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Be responsible for the day to day accounting activities of the business including all monthly and quarterly reporting and lodgements.

Cash flow management and forecasting.

Manage a team of 4 staff covering AR/AP and Payroll.

Actively partner with operations and procurement to maximise cash flow without jeopardising production deadlines and customer schedules.

Develop and maintain up to date job and project costing modules.

Work closely with the MD on adhoc projects.

The ideal candidate will have appropriate accounting qualifications and a financial and cost accounting background.

Excellent collaboration and communications skills are required and you will need a certain level of resilience to be successful in this role.

Role is based from my client's modern Fairfield offices. The role is principally a work from the office positions, although some WFH flexbility can be negotiated (1 day/week etc).

Exposure to mid-tier ERP such as Pronto, MS Dynamics or Navision would be highly desirable.
